Anthony Domol: Pop-up wet weather on Tuesday

ABILENE, Texas - This morning we are tracking scattered showers and thundershowers across the south central counties of West Central Texas under a general partly to mostly cloudy sky. Temperatures are in the lower 70s area wide while southerly winds are blowing from 5-10 mph.

Through the morning hours, wet weather will be scattered about the region delivering some heavy downpours to isolated locations. Readings rise into the 80s by the noon hour. South winds increase to 10-20 mph.

This afternoon a continued risk for a shower or thundershower exists for just about all of the viewing area. Highs reach the lower 90s under a mix of sun and clouds. Southerly flow remains breezy.

This evening the weather picture quiets down as any precipitation diminishes in coverage and intensity. The mercury falls into the lower 70s by daybreak on Wednesday. Winds go from the south at 10-15 mph.

Wednesday turns out partly cloudy skies and provides good sunshine throughout the afternoon. This allows temperatures to reach the middle 90s. The slightest risk for a shower or thundershower hangs on in our westernmost areas. Breezy south southeast winds crank from 15-20 mph.

High pressure begins to strengthen overhead on Thursday and precludes any further rain chances. Look for generous sunshine and a few passing afternoon clouds. The thermometer heads for the mid to upper 90s. South winds come at us from 15-20 mph.

Friday and Saturday give us expansive sunshine and only minimal afternoon cloud development. No rainfall is predicted. Readings drill into the upper 90s. South southeast breezes roll at 10-20 mph.

Sun mixed with clouds is the expectation for Sunday and Monday. Both days see the mercury take off for the upper 90s while a general southeast wind blows around 10 mph.
