Merry Christmas and Happy Wednesday across West Texas!
The tranquil weather pattern we have seen in recent afternoons has no intentions of giving up its foothold over the next several days as sunshine and high pressure look to stay in firm control.
Today on Christmas Day temperatures will be a bit cooler as a cold front has worked its way through the region this morning. We expect a high in the upper 40s this afternoon. Breezy north winds at 10-15mph will put a definite chill in the air.
Mostly clear skies tonight will allow the thermometer to drop into the middle 20s.
Thursday and Friday fair skies and temperatures slowly inching their way through the 50s are in the forecast.
Saturday should be amongst the warmest of the next 7 days with the mercury destined to touch 60 degrees or possibly a bit higher.
Sunday we will be tracking a stronger cold front during the morning hours which appears as though it will turn temperatures back pretty significantly. Readings may be falling through the 40s during the daylight hours. Some additional cloud cover but no precipitation is expected.
Monday keeps it cool with the thermometer struggling to touch 50 degrees.
Sharp warming into the upper 50s to near 60 appears in the cards for Tuesday.
