ABILENE, Texas -

Good Friday Folks! This morning we have a cold front moving southward through the region. Winds will be from the northeast this afternoon at 15-20mph but can gust even higher. Temperatures still manage to climb into the middle 60s under mostly sunny skies.

Tonight mostly fair weather conditions carry us into Saturday morning. Overnight lows will be cool in the middle 30s.

Saturday starts chilly but sees strong warming build into West Texas around the noon hour and beyond as highs climb into the upper 70s area wide. These warmer readings will be aided by plentiful sunshine and south southwest winds at 10-20mph.

The evening hours of Saturday will remain mostly clear and mild. The mercury bottoms out in the upper 40s to near 50 by Sunday morning.

Further warming commences on Sunday with the thermometer reaching into the lower to mid 80s by late afternoon. Some additional high clouds will be around especially in our northern counties through the day but not enough to preclude well above normal temperatures.

Around sunrise on Monday morning, we will be tracking another weak cold front into the Big Country. This will introduce a few clouds across the area but no rainfall is expected. Temperatures Monday afternoon stay mild and peak out in the lower 70s.

A disturbance passing by to our south Monday afternoon into Monday night will throw some clouds our way but at this point no rainfall is in the forecast.

The daylight hours of Tuesday should see decreasing clouds with warmer air surging back at us. Look for highs in the mid to upper 70s.

Very warm weather persists on Wednesday. In fact, readings will likely be flirting with the 80 degree mark yet again. A fair amount of high cloud cover will mix with sunshine.

Another in a series of weak cold fronts arrives on Thursday morning but will do little to cool us down. Expect partly cloudy conditions and highs in the lower 70s.
