Today we are tracking a hot and dry weather pattern which is about to take firm control of West Central Texas as we head into our Labor Day weekend.
Temperatures look to surge into at least the mid 90s this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. Winds will be from the south southwest around 10-15 mph. Tonight clear skies rule with lows in the lower 70s.
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are all expected to turn out extremely warm. Readings all three days should reach the upper 90s under mostly sunny skies. Lows will be in the lower 70s. At the moment, rain chances look unlikely through this period.
Moving ahead to Labor Day, a couple models are hinting at a weak cold front approaching from the north and giving us a slight chance for a shower or thundershower. This is not carved in stone but its something to track in a benign pattern of just hot and dry conditions.
If you are spending very much time outdoors please remember to wear the sunscreen and drink lots of fluids. Meteorological fall starts on Sunday, but we will carry the heat right on into next week.
