Anthony Domol: Very cold start to the week
Today we are tracking very cold weather throughout all of West Texas as we start the day in the lower teens with wind chills down hanging out down near zero. A Wind Chill Advisory is in effect until 9am this Monday morning.
The afternoon will give sunny skies and just a few high clouds especially to the south. No precipitation will fall today with high pressure the dominant player on the weather map. The thermometer tops out in the lower 30s while winds blow from the north at 5-10 mph.
Tonight we remain mostly clear and get set for another cold one with lows in the middle to upper teens.
Tuesday look for partly cloudy skies with temperatures recovering into the upper 40s. Southerly winds will help improve our readings and become breezy from 15-20mph during the afternoon.
Partly sunny conditions will be around for Wednesday with highs working their way into the middle and upper 50s.
Thursday some sunshine will be followed by increasing afternoon cloudiness. The mercury makes it into the middle 50s by day’s end.
Some scattered showers are possible overnight Thursday into the first half of Friday with a system working its way at us from the west. Expect temperatures a bit milder in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees to wrap up the work week.
A peak at the weekend forecast shows skies becoming sunny on Saturday with temps in the middle 50s. Warmth should increase for Sunday under plentiful sunshine. Readings return to the lower to mid 60s.
