ABILENE, Texas - We're tracking the chance for morning showers and some strong winds to round out the weekend.
Overnight Saturday we'll keep the rain chances going as an upper level disturbance moves across the state. This disturbance will help to send a cold front through the region with lows cooling into the low 40s.
This front will also usher in some strong winds. They'll come in from the north between 20 and 30 mph, gusting to 40 at times.
We'll keep rain chances in the forecast for Sunday morning before things start to dry out. Highs will warm to the low 50s.
Overnight we'll calm things down with mostly clear skies and a light freeze. Lows will cool to the low 30s before rebounding into the upper 60s Monday afternoon.
The warming trend continues Tuesday as highs warm back into the mid 70s but another cold front will cool us down to around 40 overnight.
Wednesday we'll see highs in the low 70s with a slight chance for showers as we head into the evening hours, thanks to a disturbance that will pass over the state.
Thursday and Friday, our warm weather continues with highs in the mid 70s and upper 80s. Cloud cover increases ahead of our next front Friday night.
Saturday will be noticeably cooler with morning lows around 50 and afternoon highs in the low 60s. For now, this front doesn't look to bring any rain.
