Anthony Domol: Heat comes back mid-late week
Today we continue tracking a sunny and increasingly warmer weather pattern for West Central Texas. High temperatures this afternoon are expected to reach 87 degrees. No rain chances are in the forecast for our Tuesday.
Tonight clear skies will rule across the area with humidity levels remaining very comfortable. Look for a seasonable low temperature around 63.
Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday will produce more sunshine with above normal temperatures. Readings should surge into the lower 90s each day as breezy southerly winds drive late-season heat into the Big Country. Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.
Saturday we will be tracking a cold front plowing southward into West Central Texas. Showers and thunderstorms look to develop first in the Big Country and then spread southward through the afternoon and evening hours. Highs on Saturday will be dependent on the exact timing of the front. If the front approaches earlier in the day, readings will be held into the lower 80s. If the progress of the front gets delayed, we may see temperatures spike into the mid to upper 80s before any clouds and precipitation limit warming potential. Heavy downpours will be a possibility with this weather system.
Sunday the cold front will settle through the area and rain chances will end from north to south. Behind the front, clouds will break for some sunshine and temperatures will struggle to reach 80 degrees.
