Chelsea Humphrey: Heat not letting up into the work week
The warming trend continues into the work week with afternoon temps in the upper 90s and low triple digits by the weekend.
This afternoon we'll see highs warming into the mid to upper 90s with sunny skies. Breezy winds continue today, from the south at 10 to 20 mph.
Tonight we're keeping the clear skies going with lows cooling into the mid 70s.
High pressure will dominate the forecast through the week, keeping rain chances out for the most part. For Tuesday afternoon we'll see highs in the mid to upper 90s. Partly cloudy skies will be in place by Wednesday morning with morning lows in the mid 70s.
The heat intensifies through the middle of the week with temperatures Wednesday afternoon warming into the upper 90s and low triple digits.
We'll keep the sunshine going through the end of the week and into the weekend with afternoon highs continuously topping the upper 90s and low triple digits. Nighttime lows will cool into the mid 70s.
We're tracking a disturbance that will drop from the northwest into the Big Country Friday night. For now it looks to bring rain chances north of the Big Country but we'll continue to monitor that disturbance because a shift further south could mean rain chances for us. For now, we'll keep the forecast dry through the weekend.
