Mark Rowlett: Tracking increasing weekend rain chances
An approaching cold front and weak upper level disturbances moving through the region Sunday and Monday will bring the risk of heavy rainfall to our area Sunday into Tuesday.
Breezy and warm conditions should continue through Friday. Watch out for south to southwest winds at 20 gusting to 30 mph again Friday. High temperatures should be in the middle to upper 80s Friday.
Mostly cloudy skies are forecast for Saturday with the better chances of rain staying to our south and east. Look for highs in the lower 80s.
Those upper level disturbances are expected to be in our region Sunday and Monday to bring very good chances of heavy showers and thundershowers both days.
One to three inches of rainfall will be possible from the period Sunday through Tuesday.
A cold front is forecast to move through our region Tuesday. Scattered thunderstorms are expected as the cold front moves through.
Fair skies and cooler temperatures should be found Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the 70s both days.
