ABILENE, Texas -

The warm weather will stick around through the forecast with some much-needed rain chances by Wednesday.

The clear skies to start the weekend will continue into this evening with temps cooling into the low 40s. After a chilly start to your Sunday we'll warm into the low 70s by the afternoon.

We're tracking a partly cloudy start to the work week with temps in the upper 40s. Look for highs warming into the upper 70s through the afternoon. We're tracking a disturbance to our west that will move up from the south throughout the day. As it does, showers and t'showers will develop over far west Texas. A few light showers may make it into the our region but chances look slim.

Mostly cloudy skies stay with us as we head into the evening hours. We'll cool to the low 50s by Tuesday morning. By the afternoon we're tracking highs in the low 80s with sunshine to spare.

Temperatures will fall to around 60 by Wednesday morning before warming back into the 80s. We could see an afternoon shower or storm thanks to the dryline. Thursday, nearly identical conditions, with morning temps in the low 60s before jumping into the low 80s by the afternoon. We could, yet again, see a p.m. shower or storm fire up along the dryline.

By week's end, we're tracking an upper level disturbance from the west. As this system approaches our area, moisture will surge in, making for some good rain chances. We'll see a 30% chance for showers and storms. Highs warm into the low to mid 80s. The rain chances carry over into the start of the weekend as the system moves across the state. Highs on Saturday will warm into the low 80s.
