More rain on tap for Tuesday
Showers will continue to soak parts of our area throughout the day on Tuesday.
An area of low pressure will move through west Texas Tuesday, pulling rain chances along with it. These showers will impact much of our region throughout the day. Since this rain is falling on an already-saturated ground, flash flooding could be an issue. Use extra caution while you're traveling today.
Highs this afternoon will warm into the upper 70s and low 80s under cloudy skies. Overnight, the rain chances will fall off just a bit, down to 60%. Temps will cool into the upper 60s.
Wednesday, this area of low pressure will be near the Texas-New Mexico line. While the majority of the rain will be moving out of our area, moisture will filter in from the Gulf of Mexico. Look for highs in the mid 80s under cloudy skies. Overnight we'll cool down to around 70.
By Thursday, rain chances drop to 20%. Most of the rain will be out to our west but scattered showers and storms will still be possible through the afternoon. Highs will warm to the upper 80s with a little more sunshine.
By Friday, quiet weather returns. We'll see highs in the low to mid 90s through the weekend with plenty of sunshine.
