Today we are tracking another day of above normal temperatures across West Central Texas. High pressure builds back in on our Tuesday afternoon allowing for mostly sunny skies and a high around 96 degrees.
Tonight mostly clear conditions will prevail with lows in the lower 70s.
Expect similarly nice weather for Wednesday with lots of sunshine and just a few passing clouds. Highs will continue above normal in the middle 90s.
Thursday and Friday look to start sunny and turn out partly cloudy in the afternoon hours. An isolated shower cannot be ruled out on Friday afternoon specifically in our southern rows of counties. A moist flow off the Gulf of Mexico will be responsible for this. Any rainfall, however, will be widely scattered and most areas will stay dry. Expect temps in the mid 90s both Thursday and Friday.
An early look at the weekend ahead shows hot weather returning to the Abilene area. We do not see a repeat of this past weekend with 3 straight triple digit readings but we do see the potential for the mercury to climb into the mid and upper 90s. Dry conditions are in the forecast for Saturday and Sunday.
It definitely looks quite hot over the next several days!
