The National Weather Service is estimating that there were 10 tornadoes in North Texas Wednesday afternoon and evening. Early reports are that areas in and near the Hood County town of Granbury were especially hard hit.
Hood County Sheriff Roger Deeds reported that at least six people were killed in Granbury Wednesday night. Dozens of people were injured as the tornado tore through two neighborhoods.
In the aftermath of the tornado in Granbury, a triage station was set up and school buses were called in to transport the walking wounded.
The storm formed rapidly just east of our area Wednesday afternoon and marched eastward into North Texas.
Storms have moved finally moved out of our are early Thursday morning. Look for dry and very warm weather for Thursday and Friday.
