We're tracking an upper level disturbance that is slowly moving northeast through our region. It helped create showers and thunderstorms Tuesday evening. We are forecasting more showers and storms to develop Wednesday afternoon and evening.
Fortunately, the storms Tuesday stayed below severe levels. However, a lot of pea size hail fell in Knox City. Abilene had a lightning storm with some beneficial rainfall on the east side of town. Winds near the stronger storms in San Angelo, Snyder and Knox City gusted to around 40 mph.
Similar weather dangers are expected from strong storms in our area Wednesday. Treat any dark cloud like it could bring lightning. Gusty winds will be possible even before the rain arrives - especially locations where the temperature is still very warm.
Drier and hotter weather is forecast for Thursday and Friday with highs back into the 90s both days.
