ABILENE, Texas -

The week kicks off with warm weather but winter precipitation is in the forecast by Friday.

Overnight Sunday, we're tracking a weak cold front to move through, clearing the skies. We'll start out on the chilly side, in the low 40s.

Despite the cold front, we're tracking a warmer day Monday thanks to a little more sunshine. Highs will warm to around 70 degrees.

Tuesday, we'll see morning temps in the mid 40s followed by highs in the upper 70s.

We're tracking a cold front that will move in Wednesday morning. Ahead of the front, look for lows in the upper 40s.

By the afternoon we'll see temps in the mid 50s. With little moisture to work with, this front will come through dry.

Wednesday night we'll see a 40% chance of rain ahead of another cold front.

Thursday starts out soggy with temps in the mid 30s. We'll warm up modestly throughout the day with highs around 40 degrees.

The showers will linger Thursday and Thursday night with lows cooling into the mid 20s.

With the freezing temps, there is a small window for wintry precipitation chances. The time frame is around daybreak Friday but we should transition to liquid precipitation as temperatures climb above freezing.

Friday afternoon, the showers will likely move east with highs, only in the mid 30s.

By Saturday, partly sunny skies with some very chilly temperatures. We'll start the weekend in the low 20s with highs in the low 30s.

Sunday, more of the same, low 20s in the morning, mid 30s in the afternoon.
