Chelsea Humphrey: Tracking excessive heat through the end of week
Highs will continue to warm into the triple digits through Friday but a bit of relief is on the way.
We're tracking another very hot afternoon with temperatures warming into the 102-104 degree range. We'll see plenty of sunshine with south winds at 10 to 15 mph. Tonight we'll cool into the mid 70s.
Tomorrow will be the warmest day of the week for many with highs in the 103 to 105 degree range. We're tracking our next cold front that will move through late in the afternoon. This will bring about slight rain chances through the evening hours Friday.
Saturday we're tracking slightly cooler temperatures with afternoon highs in the upper 90s. We'll see a good mix of clouds and sun as well as a chance for afternoon thundershowers. The rain chances continue into the evening hours Saturday. We'll cool into the upper 60s and low 70s.
Thundershowers will accompany a stronger cold front Sunday morning. We'll also see highs in the afternoon in the low 90s. Mostly cloudy skies and showers will linger into the evening hours. Overnight we'll cool into the upper 60s.
Monday, our rain chances continue thanks to a disturbance that will drop through the Big Country. We'll see the mostly cloudy skies during the day with better rain chances at night. Highs will make it to 90 degrees during the day before cooling into the low 70s at night.
Tuesday, the rain chances will begin to decrease with highs in the low 90s. Wednesday our rain chances will end with temperatures around 93 degrees.
