Tracking shower chances
We have been tracking a weak disturbance in South Texas the past two days that has brought afternoon thunderstorms to the eastern 1/3 of Texas.
This feature is forecast to pass south of our region Wednesday and Thursday and end up near the New Mexico/Texas border Friday. It then looks to move east through our region Saturday.
Scattered afternoon thunderstorms should be found in our southern areas around I-10 Wednesday and Thursday. Isolated afternoon thundershowers could develop south of I-20 Wednesday and again Thursday.
A fairly good coverage of showers and thunderstorms are forecast for areas west of us for Friday afternoon. Some of this rain could move east into our region Friday night.
The best chance of showers and thunderstorms for our area looks to be during the day Saturday. Dry weather is expected for our area Sunday as the disturbance moves east of us.
Afternoon temperatures should continue to reach the upper 90s through Friday. Lower 90s are expected Saturday with the increased cloud cover and rain chances.
