We tracked strong thunderstorms through the eastern portions of the Big Country, Concho Valley and Heartland Wednesday evening. These storms brought damaging winds to Albany and quarter size hail to Thorckmorton, SW Abilene, Elmdale, and Buffalo Gap.
These storms formed along a strong cold front that has moved through most of the region late Wednesday night. Strong north winds will continue overnight and through Thursday at 25-35 mph with gusts to 45 mph possible. A Wind Advisory is in effect for our region for Thursday.
Cloudy skies Thursday could produce some light rain Thursday morning. Look for late day clearing from northwest to southeast. Temperatures should be in the 40s all day Thursday.
A Freeze Watch is in effect for Friday morning. Temperatures could fall to the freezing mark. If this happens, this would be the latest spring freeze on record for our area.
Sunshine is back for Friday and temperatures should warm back into the middle to upper 60s. Look for high temperatures in the 70s for Saturday and Sunday.
