Recipe

      • 1 Turkey 12-20 Lbs.
      • Butter 3-5 lbs.
      • 1 Injector
      • Lemon Pepper
      • Black Pepper
      • Season Salt
      • Garlic SaltKTXS Storm Team Forecast

Preparation

1. Thaw turkey and remove giblets and neck.  Clean turkey with water.

2. Place turkey where it can be injected.

3. Melt butter and after it is melted and in liquid form, fill injector.

4. Insert injector needle into turkey and inject butter.  Do not try to turn or twist in turkey or you may break the needle off inside the bird.

5. Continue injecting turkey until butter is gone or the turkey will not hold any more.

6. Take lemon pepper, black pepper, season salt and garlic salt and lightly sprinkle all over the turkey and inside cavity.

7. After turkey is seasoned place turkey in smoker at 250-300 degrees.

8. Turn turkey about every 30 minutes.

9. Let the turkey stay in smoker until it's a golden color.

10. When turkey is golden color, take out and wrap in 3 layers of heavy foil.

11. Then place back in smoker to finish cooking.

12. Turkey needs to cook about 3/4 hour per pound or until internal temperature reaches 168 degrees.
